Turning Green … is now at the forefront of every nations agenda, a way of living imperative in conserving our planets natural resources and in reducing the impact on our already strained environment. This means individually we must all become aware of our ecological footprint, challenge our way of living and introduce greener habits that collectively create a better future for us and future generations to come.
Large cities account for over 75% of the world’s greenhouse gases and London has its responsibility to lead others in taking action now. As a pledge to make a change to their lifestyles and embrace going green, the London Green Initiative is an interactive and educational dialogue with Londoners informing them of vital facts and effects on our environment. Ultimately, it delivers an encouraging message of how small changes individually will help towards the greater goal of making our great city cleaner, healthier and greener.
Audience Reach
Populace living and working in London
Transitory public such as tourists, business people, students, other UK travellers, etc
Leaflets are also ideal for colleges, hospitals and public service arenas
The Final Phase – Interact With Us and Have Some Fun!
The campaign culminates in The London White Bus Tour, an innovative visual take on the red bus highlighting Londoners pledge to its city. Free tours will circumnavigate around the famous landmarks of London. The visual and conceptual message of the ‘white bus’ draws upon the importance of making London cleaner and greener for all now and for the future.

FOLDER DESIGN
Folder Design - Media Pack for the initiative for London Green became a part of my project after time consuming oranisation of the visual material that has been already produced. The pack its excellent idea for presentation of the product to the client.
Folder design had taken me a lot of time because it is difficult to measure everything precisely and plan where it will fold and how thick it supposed to be. The other difficult part of it is that is not a standard folder, usually presentation folders have only two parts, mine has three. So I went to couple different places to find out how to print it and if it is possible to do it, unfortunately no one does this kind of customized folders. Normally if you want to print a folder, you have to order minimum of 50, which costs at least £200. I began to stressed about it and decided to contact a designer back home ( Poland ) and find out about places where I could print the folder. Fortunately there is a private company which does this kind of designs, so I got in touch with them and explained what I would like to produce. I had to design and measure everything really carefully and predict the thickness of the folder and pockets inside of it. I have finished it last night and have emailed all my files. Now its the most stressful part-WAITING!! I hope that everything will come up as I designed and that they will sent it back to be on time!
* The campaign has changed significantly since the start, all around the client’s feedback and what has been requested. Once the media pack ( campaign folder ) is created the client will then move to stage 2 and present it to the focus group to run sample response.

PROJECT SO FAR....
Updates on where I stand....
By now I have design 5 posters which bring 5 different messages, e.g.'11 million car journeys are made in London everyday', 'London produce 53 tonnes carbon dioxide annually, 7.4 tonnes per person' or ' Most pollution in London comes from road traffic'.....HELP TURN YOUR LONDON GREEN ...
Poster section includes billboards, light-boxes, platform posters, tube carriage inserts and bus adverts.
Currently I am designing leaflets:
1. one general leaflet about London Green campaign which will be smaller and will include tube map, so people can pick it up at the station and carry it around.
2. two handouts about London pollution/solution of how decrease it.
3. London White Bus Tour leaflet informing about the event which includes map of the tour
As I was thinking of the presentation of campaign material to the client , I came up with an idea of folder, which will have three different sections:
1. intro to the campaign and mini showcase of the designs
2. leaflets and postcards sections
3. posters: billboards/bus adverts and mockups of LG adverts in the real environment.
As a part of London White Bus Tour I designed a special green Goody Bag which will be given away for free to all people on the day of the tour.
The bag includes:
T-shirt/ Cap/ Badges/ Key ring

Retro style and non green landmarks
* Use of images that the general public would relate to London
* Address the need to make these areas much more green – turn your London Green
* Retro worked better because it is clearer to the eye what the campaign is trying to say:
from polluted to green. It is also stronger to the public – they will not forget. Its
memorable, eye catching, strong association.
* The colour was chosen after several attempts in other green shades, it was striking – yes
it is lurid to a degree but a strong association to the public which will be remembered
once the campaign finishes.
